Description
English: Copper alloy brooch, conical disc type. Missing pin and one of the hinge lugs; some corrosion. The disc has a raised beaded rim enclosing a slightly convex level 4mm wide band (flat on underside)with a notched ridge on the inner edge. The steep central cone has projecting ribs around it at about one and two thirds up it; the top is a simple point. The underside is a hollow cone. Diameter 22.5mm, height of plate and cone 12.5mm. A slight variant of the conical types known as "tutulus" (Hattatt nos. 1068, 1071 etc), which are generally Continental products.
