Title
Bronze Age tanged knife fragment (possibly)
Description
English: A fragment of a copper-alloy tool of probable Bronze Age date. It is suggested that this piece may be the tip from a late Bronze Age tanged knife. For a similar example, see MacGregor, 1987, p. 110, no. 11.72).

The blade has a rounded point and is of thin section, with slightly convex surfaces and sharp edges. Towards the bottom end are two opposing notches - these have the appearance of a deliberately created element, but could alternatively be the result of corrosion. The tool has a dark brownish-green patina and is corroded in places. The slight curvature may be the result of damage.

The piece measures 33.8mm long, 18.4mm wide and 2.8mm thick. The weight is 6.7g.
