Title
Bronze Age socketed axehead/chisel (fragment)
Description
English: A fragment of a socketed implement (probably an axehead or chisel) of late Bronze Age date.

The curved piece represents part of the rim and upper body of the tool. The rim has a convex outer surface and projects outwards slightly. The body is vertical-sided and has a suggestion of a low horizontal ridge, approximately halfway down. The patination of the edges suggests that the destruction of the artefact occurred in antiquity.

The surfaces have a dark green patination and are corroded in places. The piece measures 22.7mm high, 21.7mm wide and weighs 11.77g.
