Title
Bronze Age socketed axe (fragment)
Description
English: A fragment of a copper-ally socketed axe of Late Bronze Age date.

The piece represents the bottom part of the axe. There is a slight increase in width towards the blade, but the axehead is of slender appearance. The hollow interior extends to approximately 10mm above the blade. The patination of the break suggests that the damage occurred in antiquity. The artefact measures 40.2mm long, 31.3mm wide, up to 14mm thick and weighs 44.9g.
