Title |
Bronze Age scraper |
||
Description |
English: A flint thumbnail scraper of Early Bronze Age date, c. 2200 to 1600 BC. The scraper is formed of a dark grey secondary flint, with a portion of yellow white cortex on the dorsal face. There is also a patch of a lighter grey patina on the dorsal face. It is discoidal in plan and triangular in cross section.There is short, abrupt invasive retouch on three sides, but not at the distal end. The relative coarseness of this example suggests an Early Bronze Age date.
Measurements: 21.2mm length, 24.1mm width, 7.2mm thickness, weight 3.56g. |
