Title
Bronze Age scraper
Description
English: Knapped flint scraper made on a secondary flake, probably of Bronze Age date, c.2150-800 BC. Cortex covers c.50% of the dorsal face and c.25 % of the ventral face down one side and across the distal end. The bulb of percussion has been removed by retouch but the percussion waves remain. There is long, pararllel, semi-abrupt retouch around the proximal end and right edge on the dorsal face ending in a retouched semi-circular notch with abrupt retouch at the distal end. The notch has created a rounded point at the right corner of the the distal end which is shaped by semi-abrupt long, parallel retouch. The flint is a translucent mid buff. The thick cortex suggests a downland origin. It is 34.9mm long, 31.6mm wide, 9.4mm thick and weighs 8.99 grams.
