Title
Bronze Age retouched flake
Description
English: A Late Neolithic to Bronze Age retouched flint flake, probably dating to c. 2400-800 BC. A secondary flake of opaque dark grey flint with paler inclusions, with a small amount (c. 5%) of cortex surviving at the proximal end. The flake appears to have been struck directly from cortex and may be a rejuvination flake, it ha been worked unifacially. Two irregular, broad flake-like removal scars are present on the dorsal face, struck at c. 11 o'clock to the overall removal. The distal end of both sides has been retouched (short, scalar/stepped, semi-abrupt) resulting in a slightly rounded point. There is some iron staining at the proximal end.

Dimensions: length 53.7mm; width 46.6mm; thickness 12.5mm; weight 28.24g.
