Title
Bronze Age rapier (fragment)
Description
English: A copper-alloy fragment from the blade of a Bronze Age bladed weapon.

The piece, which has been broken off at both ends, is of lozenge-shaped section. The surface has a dark bluish-green patina and is pitted in places.

Length: 45.6mm; width: 15.3mm; thickness: 4.4mm. Weight: 12.6g.

The tip of weapon, of similar dimenions and patination, was found close to this piece and previously recorded on the PAS database: see BH-56E6E1. It is likely that the two pieces are part of the same implement, which was probably a Middle Bronze Age rapier.
