Title
Bronze Age ingot (fragment)
Description
English: An irregular piece of a copper-alloy ingot, probably dating from the Bronze Age.

The piece is sub-triangular in plan and has near-vertical, irregular sides, none of which appears to be the original surface. The upper surface is broadly flat, whereas the underside is less regular and there are several air pockets within the casting.

Length: 38.8mm; width: 36.4mm; thickness: 23.2mm. Weight: 124.46g.

This piece is typical of the fragments of plano-convex ingot commonly found associated with hoards of the Middle to Late Bronze Age. Comparable fragments have been found nearby: see, for example, Treasure cases 2009 T390 (Furneux Pelham) and 2015 T784 (Brent Pelham).
