Title
Bronze Age flint scraper
Description
English: A flint scraper of probable Middle to Late Bronze Age date.

The rounded scraper is on a secondary flake and is broadly pear-shaped but slightly irregular. Retouch to the distal end is long, sub-parallel and abrupt. Part of the striking platform survives and the ventral surface displays a pronounced bulb-of-percussion and conchoidal fracture, indicating hard hammer production. The flint surface is a heavily recorticated white, which is the result of deposition within an alkaline environment.

Length: 49mm; width: 35.3mm; thickness: 16mm. Weight: 28.64g.
