Title
Bronze Age flanged axe profile
Description
English: Cooper alloy Bronze Age flanged axe tip. This axe tip is subrectangular in plan, and because of the flanges, subtriangular in section. It is 19.18mm long, 26.82mm wide, 4.72mm thick (though it does taper) and weighs 9.96g.The blade edge is intact, but heavily worn and abraded. The surface of the axe is missing and the body is heavily pitted and abraded, as are the remaining portions of the flanges. The overall patina of the object is dark brown with red flashes of bronze disease. The broken edge is of a similar colour, uneven and abraded implying the break probably occured in antiquity.
