Title
Bronze Age end scraper
Description
English: Knapped flint end scraper made on a tertiary flake. There is a bulb of percusison on the ventral face and the strike on a previously worked surface has removed a chip down the right edge. It is triangular in section and the scars on the ventral face suggest possible multi-platform working of the core. A very small amount of cortex, less than 5% remains near the distal end. There are chips at the proximal end from previous failed removals from the platform used to knap this piece. There is short, scalar, semi-abrupt to abrupt retouch around the distal end. The side edges are unretouched. It is 39.2mm long, 26.9mm wide and 11.0mm thick; it weighs 11.12g. The flint is mid to pale grey with paler mottling and patches of unformed flint.

The thickness of the flake, multi-platform working and simplicity suggests a later Neolithic or Bronze Age date, c. 2,700 to 800 BC.
