Description
English: A copper-alloy casting jet of probable Mid to Late Bronze Age date.

The piece takes the form of an inverted half-cylinder, its bottom point bifurcating into two angled runners.

Dimensions: 28.3mm high, 25.6mm wide, 11.8mm wide (top). Weight: 20.93g.

Casting jets are waste products which form at the top of a two-piece clay mould when the molten metal has filled the object-shaped void below. As they represent re-usable metal, they were often retained and regularly turn up in founder's hoards of the period (see, for example, 2006 T36, from Devon).
