Title
Bronze Age Palstave axe
Description
English: A copper alloy axe blade fragment. The piece has tapering sides and a rounded blade with signs of wear. The surfaces are quite pitted. There is no evidence for the hollow socket so this may be part of a straight sided palstave. There are palstaves this shape in the hoard from Langdon Bay, Kent which is dated to around 1275-1140BC (Barber 2003).
