Title
Bronze Age Flat Axe
Description
English: An early Bronze Age cast copper-alloy flat axehead that has survived well. The axe is trapezoid, with slightly concave hammered sides which widen out at the blade end. The concentric blade is damaged on one surface and is slightly worn. The narrow butt-end is slightly rounded at the corners and has a small amount of post-depositional damage. In profile, the axe is an elongated curved lozenge, which is narrowest at the blade end. The axe has a dull brown-green patina. It is 71.13mm long, 34.48mm wide and 6.28mm thick.
