Title
Bronze Age Discoidal Scraper.
Description
English: A large complete discoidal flint scraper of probable Bronze Age date. (2150 BC - 800 BC). Length 54.4mm, width 63.5mm and maximum thickness 12.0mm. Weight 53.43g. The flint is pale grey with creamy mottling. It is sub-oval in plan and has been produced on a large tertiary flake. The ventral surface has a low and indistinct bulb of percussion and a small percussion scar. There is no re-touch on this surface. The dorsal surface has three large flake scars and the edge is completely re-touched. The sub-parallel re-touch is short and the angle is abrupt/semi-abrupt. There is no evidence of wear. However, the distal end of the ventral surface is smoother and shinier than the proximal end. The implement is in good condition and is undamaged.
