Title
Bronze Age Chisel or Leather Working Knife
Description
English: An incomplete cast copper-alloy tanged chisel or leather working knife of Late Bronze Age date. It is triangular in form and rectangular in section, tapering to a rounded blade end. The tang end tapers towards a point and terminates in old breaks. The entire object is extremely worn with traces of a brown/green patina visible in patches, but the surfaces are mostly now incomplete with extensive pitting and some pale green corrosive products present. The entire object measures 46.90mm in length, 30.02mm in width at blade end, 4.61mm in thickness, and weighs 15.34g. This object is of Late Bronze Age date, c.1150-800 BC, with a similar example noted in Pendleton, 1999: no. 300.
