Description |
English: Early Bronze Age Flanged axe, straight sides slightly convex in section, sub-rectangular heel, blade expanding towards crescentic cutting edge, low cast flanges, transverse bevel ridge on both faces at junction of hafting surface and blade. The condition is quite fresh, although minor pitting occurs over all surfaces, which are patinated brown with few small patches of verdigris. 115mm x 66mm x 15mm. Weight 255g. Cast flanged axes belong to the later part of the Early Bronze Age. c.1700 - c. 1500 BC. |
