Title
Bronze Age : Barbed and Tanged Arrowhead
Description
English: An almost complete knapped barbed and tanged arrowhead of early Bronze Age date. The arrowhead is triangular in plan with a pointed ovate cross section. Two smaller triangular notches have been chipped into the base of the object to form the central tang and flanking barbs. The tip of one bard has been broken off and no longer remains. The complete barb has a rounded end and the tang is square.

The arrowhead has been formed on a tertiary flake which has been bi-facially worked with covering, scaled, low angle invasive retouch.

The flint is a semi-translucent grey colour and is not patinated. The arrowhead is 26.6mm long, 20.3mm wide, 2.9mm thick and weighs 1.3g.
