A complete late Bronze Age copper-alloy tanged chisel or leather working knife/tool (c. 1000 BC-800 BC).

This chisel has a tapering square-sectioned tang. Between the tang and blade a globular stop/collar measures 10.1mm wide and 8.9mm thick. From the stop the sides of the sub-triangular blade flare evenly to the curving cutting edge. The four edges of the blade are bevelled. In side profile the blade is 'V'-shaped.

The implement has a mid-brown patina which is lost in places and there are small areas of corrosion. The cutting edge is damaged due to corrosion.

Length: 60.4mm, width at blade tips: 16.6mm; thickness: 8.9mm. Weight: 11.12g.
