Description |
English: A fragment of a handmade fired clay object of unidentifiable form. It could possibly be part of a fired clay loomweight. The fragment is 35.30mm in length, 23.86mm wide and 17.21mm thick. It weighs 11.1 grams. The fragment of fired clay has a fabric similar to that published as GR2 (fine grog/clay pellet with some leached shell) in McSloy 2007, p 25, dated to the Bronze Age (c.2150 BC to c.800 BC) but without the fossil shell. Sherd specific details: Fabric type: Grog, frequent mica inclusions. Sherd type: fragment Wall thickness: n/a Firing condition: oxidised exterior, unoxidised core Hardness: hard Surface texture: Smooth, soapy Condition of sherds: Slightly abraded.
