Description |
English: A rimsherd/fragment of a handmade ceramic vessel. The sherd is 6.06mm thick and weighs 7.1g. It is 31.94mm long and 33.31mm wide. The sherd consists of a rimsherd, in a fabric similar to that published as GR2 (fine grog/clay pellet with some leached shell) in McSloy 2007, p 25, dated to the Bronze Age (c.2150 BC to c.800 BC). Fabric type: frequent fossil shell, occasional grog inclusions Sherd type: rimsherd Rim type: RD (Rounded Direct) Rim diameter: 21 cm % of rim present: 5% Wall thickness: 6.06mm Firing condition: oxidised Hardness: hard Surface texture: soapy Condition of sherds: slightly abraded Sherd/fragment photographed.
