Summary
[edit]DescriptionBrompton Ponds and All Saints' Church - geograph.org.uk - 1715830.jpg |
English: Brompton Ponds and All Saints' Church
The ponds are redundant millponds and are one of two areas in the village where a substantial amount of water comes to the surface as springs. In this area many of the springs rise at the bottom of the ponds, but others rise to the right of All Saints' Church in the grounds of Brompton Hall School and enter the pond via a culvert (just visible) under the road. This photograph was taken from the dam containing the upper pond (access no longer possible). The lower pond is behind the viewpoint. See also this photograph (2007) of Brompton Ponds, 428681. The data given for the date taken is the processing date on the slide and therefore could have been taken several weeks earlier. |
