Description
English: Cast copper alloy toilet article, possibly a nail cleaner or pick. It has an incomplete suspension loop or hook and a broken shaft. The suspension hook has been flattened and broadened out and the shaft is circular in section. The broken hook is 14 mm long, 10 mm wide and 2.7 mm thick. The hook and shaft piece is 50 mm long and 4 mm in diameter and the other section of shaft is 72 mm long and 4 mm in diameter. Both pieces weigh 10.91g together.
Crummy illustrates an example of similar length on page 62, Fig.66, No.1940, which is dated to c.AD 75-125, and another example of similar style on page 62, Fig.67, No.1941, which is dated to the 2nd or early 3rd century AD.
