Description
Français : Devant une porte ouverte, un couple de brodeurs en costume bigouden travaille sur la même pièce de tissu qui semble de grande dimension ; sans doute du linge de maison. On aperçoit dans l'encadrure de la porte un second couple de personnes. Pour son reportage sur le costume bigouden, Paul Géniaux a réalisé un ensemble de clichés sur les brodeurs et les bigoudènes apprêtées. Il a notamment photographié - comme ici - les brodeurs de l'atelier Pichavent de Pont-L'Abbé, grand distributeur de pièces d'apparât et linge de maison dans les années 1890-1900. Une photographie très proche de celle-ci a été éditée en carte postale par Neurdein sous le n°242 dans la série initialement intitulée "Moeurs et Coutumes Bretonnes", qui deviendra ultérieurement "Coutumes, Moeurs et Costumes Bretons", avec la légende "Brodeur et brodeuse travaillant pour les Grands Magasins".
