English: British Waterways Maintenance Yard, Ellesmere. This maintenance yard, still in use by British Waterways, has a venerable history and has been described by the district council as the most complete example of an early 19th century canal maintenance yard. During the construction of the canal, Thomas Telford lived and had his office here. |
