Description

British Railways York Works 4-VEP class 423 750V DC 3rd rail four car electric multiple unit number 3149 (76708, 71030, 62350 and 76707) of Ramsgate TMD departs from platform 1 at Maidstone station forming the 10:14 (Daily) Ashford to London Victoria. Tuesday 7th March 1989

The three aspect colour light signal in the foreground is Maidstone East signal box EBX37 signal (down bay to up main) with 13 signal (from down bay to down main), a position light signal mid way down the post. Visible on the gantry are two electro-mechanical banner repeater signals with (left to right) 21R applying to EBX21 signal (down main starting) and 23R applying to EBX23 signal (reversible to down main starting)
