English: Site of the (former) British Museum tube station, High Holborn, WC1 British Museum station was built in 1900, when Holborn station did not serve the Central line. It was closed in 1933 when Central line platforms were built at Holborn instead of building a very long connecting foot tunnel between the two stations.
