Description |
English: British Goods in US Marshalling Yards- Anglo-american Co-operation in Wartime Britain, 1943 Pfc Tom Symott of 143 Baker Street, Fall River, Massachusetts smokes a cigar as he cleans the side of an ambulance at a US marshalling yard, somewhere in Britain. According to the original caption, this ambulance was previously owned by the British Army and saw service in France. It is kept by the Americans for use in case of air raid or other emergency, but has thankfully not yet been used. |
