Bristol Blenheim bombefly. Det britiske flyet kom fra Shetland for rekognosering, men ble antagelig skadeskutt av luftvernild over Fosen eller Trondheim. Flyet tenkte å lande ved Kristiansten Festning, men fløy for lavt og vingen gikk i taket på Kasernen, som fungerte som offisershjem for tyskerne. Tre britiske piloter omkom, og ble gravlagt på Stavne kirkegård.

Bristol Blenheim bomber. The aeroplane was damaged and intended to land by Kristiansten Fortress in Trondheim. Unfortunately it flew a little too low, and one of the wings hit the roof of a building known as Kasernen (the Barracks). One of the pilots are lying on the ground. German officer Wilkins from Berlin is no. 2 from the left.
