Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The 212th and final B.170, it first flew under Bristol's Class B marks G-18-210 and was leased to Air Charter from Apr 1957 as G-APAV Viceroy. The company, by then operating the cross-Channel car-ferry service as Channel Air Bridge, bought it outright in 1961. The Southend-Ostend car ferry service was formally jointly-operated with SABENA, but the Belgian airline never contributed any aircraft. Instead, at different times a CAB/BUAF/BAF Superfreighter was painted in SABENA colours and used on the service. G-APAV flew as such from June 1962 to June 1966 with one short break and is seen here departing Southend on 25 Nov 1964, soon after its second repaint.
