Summary
[edit]DescriptionBrimham Rocks - vintage postcard (10) 001.jpg |
Vintage postcard of Brimham Rocks, North Yorkshire, England. These is one of a set of six Judges postcards, but the backs have not been printed because they are samples for retailers. Most of them are stamped on the back with "Reference set. H.O. REP. Return to Judges Ltd., Hastings." These are real photo postcards, each using a photo taken with a half-sized glass negative and using silver nitrate. The postcard style and the photographic technique date it to 1902-1914. This photo has become very darkened by age. The first upload is an unedited scan of the original photo-postcard. The second upload is an attempt to lighten it while maintaining detail. The third upload is an attempt to lighten it further to reveal more detail (possibly). |
