Summary
[edit]DescriptionBrighamAcademy.JPG |
English: Established in 1879 by native son Peter Bent Brigham (who also named a hospital after himself in Boston, one of the three hospitals which became Brigham & Women's Hospital). The growing availability of public education eventually forced the school to close. Sketchy details suggest this was c1966.
A movement to rehabilitate the building as town offices and elementary school classrooms has met with stiff opposition; the future of the building is uncertain. |
