| Transcript | The Bayle Gate was erected at the end of the 14th century, and forms the entrance to the precints of the beautiful and interesting Priory Church of Bridlington. The gateway consists of two archways with a ribbed roof, above which is a room used as the Town Hall. It is almost the only remaining relic of the defences of the Old Priory which was destroyed in the 16th century. |
