| Description |
English: Bridge over the Whitadder Water at Elba There is a steep gorge here and in the face of the cliff is an adit to a now abandoned copper mine. This can be entered but great care is needed since just a few yards in is a deep shaft to a lower gallery.
'Groome's Directory of Scottish Placenames' does not mention 'Elba'and I have been unable to find out how the name was given to this location. |
