Bridge and Fort Delhi |
||||||||||||||||||||
Description |
Pictured here is Salimgarh Fort, built in 1546 and later joined to the Red Fort Complex known as Fort Delhi. The bridge over the Yamuna River spillway links this fort to the greater complex. Under the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb it was converted into a prison, a practice which the British later continued. |
