Summary

[edit]
Description This past Monday we had a very strong coastal storm with rain and high winds. The result was flooding and many trees toppled over onto power lines. This is the Floyd J. Wood bridge that was constructed in the early 1930s and connects Brunswick with Topsham over the Androscoggin River and is a busy north south thoroughfare. It is in the early stages of being replaced and the cranes in the photo are part of the construction of a temporary bridge. The bridge was closed as a safety precaution and remained closed for about three days. I am not sure when that last happened. Just upriver of the bridge is a dam for electric power generation. View large to see the temporary bridge under the greed existing bridge.
