Description

עברית: גשר עד הלום הוא גשר על נחל לכיש החוצה את כביש 4 ליד אשדוד, מרחק של 35 ק"מ דרומית מתל אביב, סמוך למחלף אשדוד דרום של ימינו. זהו המקום הצפוני ביותר שאליו הגיע הצבא המצרי שפלש לארץ ישראל במלחמת העצמאות במטרה להשמיד את מדינת ישראל שזה אך הוקמה. לאחר התנגשותו בצה"ל נעצר בגשר, ומכאן שמו "עד הלום". הגשר נבנה בסוף המאה ה-19 בידי השלטון העות'מאני מעל אפיק "ואדי סוכריר" (נחל לכיש) שחצה את הדרך מיבנה ל"אל-מג'דל" (אשקלון). הוא נבנה על יסודותיו של גשר מהתקופה הרומית.
