Description |
English: Built in 1858 by the firm of T.G. Richards and Co. In 1863 sold to the Whatcom County to be used as a courthouse. New Whatcom was later incorporated into the town of Bellingham in 1903. Signs on building read: James F. Cass, U.S. Commissioner, Land Office. Western Union Telegraph Office. On verso of image: Old Whatcom Court House said to be the first brick building in Washington Territory.
