They had always refused to have any-thing to do with Confederate money, andavoided all transactions which could not besettled in gold, but showed no objectionwhatever to receiving the greenbacks of-fered by the Government as indemnity fortheir losses in bellum days. Among the Tunker communities through-out the Union the memory of gentle oldJohnny Kline will ever be revered, and theexample of his patient, faithful life will beheld up for emulation among his people.To-day in all that region Johnny Kline isspoken softly as the household word—ofone whom God has taken.
