Description
English: Photograph from 1859 of the southeast side of the Marktplatz (the “marketsquare”) and the adjoining Grasmarkt (the “grassmarket”) of Bremen, Germany, showing the row of old buildings dismantled in 1860 for the construction of the Neue Börse (the “new stock exchange”). Just left to the middle of the image the backside of the statue of Roland can be seen, behind it the house Balleer and next to it right hand the house Pundsack
Deutsch: Foto aus dem Jahr 1859, das die alten Häuser an der Südostseite des Bremer Marktplatzes und dem angrenzenden Grasmarkt zeigt, die 1860 für den Bau der Neuen Börse abgerissen wurden. Etwas links der Mitte des Bildes ist die Rückseite der Rolandstatue zu erkennen, dahinter das Balleer’sche Haus, rechts daneben das Pundsack’sche Haus. Nach dem einzigen erhaltenen Abzug im Focke-Museum
