Reea's Fairview Stud, Gallatin, Tenn., on Friday, Apiil 29>.h. Wm. Etston, of the National Horse and Cattle Exchange, officiated as auc- tioneer and commenced tbe sale at 11:30. The weather was delightful and the attendance large. The sale occupied about an hour and a half. The first animal offered was a brown minster; withdrawn B g, by Duke, dam Grey Nun by Aster; C. W. Tbe total amount received for the four- teen was S16.490 or SI, 177.85 per head. The colts averaged $2,427 50 each and the fillies $678 each. In 1886 Captain Franklin sold Gallatin 200 ) nine head--five colts and fonr filliesâ at the Br c, by imp. Brigadier, dam Lizzie Bate; Madison Square Garden for $11,725, an aver- crippled, not offered. ' a?e of SI,302.77. B f, by Duke, dam by Blacklock; no bid. Thirty four yearlings brought $17,675, an average of $519.85 per head. The sixteen colts averaged $517.19 per hfad, and the eighteen fillies $522.21. Mackay, representing Mr. Haggin, made his nrtt raise of S50, but retired in favor of the Fairfax stable when the figures reached §2,700, the largest price of the sale. Gen. W. H.
