Summary
[edit]DescriptionBreach in the Wall - geograph.org.uk - 1585119.jpg |
English: Breach in the Wall A large area of Hesketh Outmarsh was reclaimed for agricultural use in the early eighties. It has recently been acquired by the RSPB as a nature reserve with the aim of returning the land to salt-marsh. This has been achieved by breaching the bank at numerous locations, this is one of them and water at high tide can be seen passing through the breach. The reclaimed area is on the right of the bank and it is obvious that the land here is lower than that to the left of the wall that has been periodically covered by silt laden water during the years since the bank was constructed |
