Português: Por do Sol na Academia da Força Aérea em Pirassununga na véspera do Domingo Aéreo 2015. Em destaque o caça subsônico A-4 Skyhawk II da Marinha do Brasil. Os Skyhalk II são da última geração do lote produzido pela empresa norte-americana McDonell Douglas. Os caças adquiridos pelo Brasil participaram de missões de combate na Operação Tempestade do Deserto na Guerra do Kuwait em 1991. Após a Guerra o Kuwait adquiriu os caças F-18 Hornet e vendeu os 23 caças A-4 sobreviventes do conflito para o Brasil em 1997. Os Skyhawk brasileiros ficam sediados na Base Aérea Naval de São Pedro Aldeia/RJ (BAeNSPA) e operam no Esquadrão VF-1 Falcão. O Primeiro Esquadrão de Aviões de Interceptação e Ataque, o VF-1 Falcão, foi criado em 02 de outubro de 1998, sendo a primeira Unidade da Marinha do Brasil a operar aeronaves para a interceptação de alvos aéreos e ataque a alvos na superfície. Uma parte das aeronaves A-4 está sendo modernizada pela Embraer. O programa prevê a revitalização e a modernização de doze aeronaves, sendo nove AF-1 monoplaces e três AF-1A biplaces. A primeira aeronave, designada AF-1B, foi entregue no dia 26 de maio de 2015. Os Skyhalk devem voar até 2028 |
