Description
English: Brasses in the floor Bit of a brass rubbers' paradise in this church as the aisle is lined with them. Brass of Thomas Broke (d.1518), Ewelme Church, Oxfordshire. Thomas Broke directed in his will that he should be buried before the "Great Rood of Ewelme". His wife's dates were never added to the brass. Inscription:
Here lyeth buried Thomas Broke, Esquire, late Knight-at-Armes to our Sovereign Lord, King Henry VIII, and Anne his wife, which Thomas deceased the XXV day of September, the yere of our Lord M.D. XVIII, and the said Anne deceased the .... day of .... the yere of our Lord M.D ..... - On whose soules Jesu have mercy
