| Description |
English: Braided tidal channel on Ainsdale beach A braided tidal channel at low tide on the beach at Ainsdale. The low relief beach topography dictates the path of the water in the channel. The bank on the left hand side was being eroded by the faster flowing water on that side of the channel. Of course all this would be under water again in a few hours time. But by contrasting this with a braided channel in a river its a good example of how geomorphic processes can be similar in different environments over different time scales. |
