Bramhayani Devi Temple, Panauti. This famous Bramhayani temple is located on the bank of the holy place Sachitirtha, across Trivenighat in Panauti Bazar, Panauti Municipality Ward No. 7 of Kavrepalanchok district. This pagoda style temple is very attractive and artistic. The interior of the roof of this temple has unique artistic works. Bramhayani Devi is a powerful goddess and Shaktipith of Kavre district. This temple is an artistic temple located in the lap of Kunjgiri mountain Gorakhnath Danda. It is mentioned that this temple was built by Vishwalakshmi, the mother of Ranjit Malla. Vishwalakshmi is the wife of Bhupatindra Malla. The record of the temple states that during the reign of King Ranjit Malla, his mother Vishwalakshmi had arranged Panchopachar Puja inside the temple and arranged the land for it. In addition to this, an inscription dated NE 836 in the temple mentions that Sri Vishwalakshmi Devi built Sri 3 Bramhayani Deval and offered a field for Guthi in Pantiya Records, No. 23. From this, after the death of Bhupanindra Malla, during the time of his son Ranjit Malla, Rani Vishwalakshmi built the temple of Brahmamayani. In the inscription placed on the west side of this temple, Sri Sri Sri Vishwalakshmi Devi, who gave birth to Sri Sri Jayaranjit Malladeva, the wife of Sri Sri Jayabhupatindra Malladeva, on Sambat 836 Asar month Shuklapaksha Navami, made a guthi and donated twenty ropani land for the Bratabandhan etc. Panchopachar Puja of Sri 3 Brahmamayani Devi. It is clear that during the time of King Ranjit Malla, his mother Vishwalakshmi Devi arranged the land for Panchopachar Puja to be performed inside the temple in order to organize the Puja and Jatra Parva.

Ankhijhayaal and doors in the temple look very attractive. Inside the temple there are idols of Bramhayani Devi as well as various other gods and goddesses on the right and left. A fair is held in this temple on the day of Baisakh Punirma. There is a huge crowd of devotees on that day. Devotees stay in this temple even during the night. The inscription on the left side of the statue also confirms that this temple is ancient. There is a pit in front of the idol of Brahmayani devi. There is also a popular belief that water will be generated in that pit for twelve years during Makar mela. Rajesh Dhungana
