Description Braga, situated in the far north of Portugal and northeast of Porto, is renowned for its rich religious heritage and events. To the east lies the Bom Jesus do Monte complex, crowned by a neoclassical church perched above an ornate 17-flight staircase. At the heart of the city, the medieval Braga Cathedral houses a museum of sacred art and the Gothic Kings' Chapel.
