[edit]DescriptionBr1150 Atlantic 255 (16703035647).jpg |
The Breguet Br1150 Atlantic was called SP-13A in the Dutch navy. Nine aircraft were bought in 1968 of which three crashed - the first two without loss of lives. Number 255 was the third to ditch, some 90 miles north-west of Ireland, on 15 January 1981. This time three crew members died in the ice old water. Nine others were rescued by an RAF Sea King. This accident resulted in the grounding of the remaining six and finally the decision to sell them back to the factory in 1985. Landing at Valkenburg, 1980. Scan from a print. |
