After occupying them-selves for a long time in bringing in the scattered articlesof furniture, and hunting about in every direction to pickup all they could find, it struck them that if they did nothasten to make such repairs as were in their power, day-light would leave them before they had rendered the cot-tage in some measure secure from the attack of thieves.
